Arts. Leadership. Power.

KnowHow Knoxville supports youth at the intersection of creativity and critical thinking, engaging young people in leadership development and community action through the mediums of visual art, writing, storytelling, cultural expression, and music. Our programming is designed in consultation and collaboration with the young people we work with, modeling core values of inter-generational leadership and empowerment that lift up community strengths and opportunities.

KnowHow prioritizes our work with young people who would otherwise lack access to this type of programming and with youth who are directly affected by structural inequalities that impact their lives, families, communities, and schools. We believe that young people often bear the brunt of systemic injustice, that there are few opportunities for active participation in addressing the issues that impact their lives, and that young people’s experiences and voices are vitally important.
